EFFORT Alone DOES NOT GUARANTEE RESULTS ... Imagination is Key.
As a keen observer of human behaviour I have seen this in the lives of many people, but in particular during my 20+ years helping people in the gym. Some people seem to attain the desired result they set out for with relative ease and others do not. Many variables influence a person’s ability to achieve their physical goals, including; experience, base-starting point, motivation, discipline, learning ability, self-control & self-image. However, I have observed that the essential ingredient to achieving your desired goal in all candidates is: IMAGINATION.
Yes, the ability to ‘see’ … ‘be’ …. ‘act’ … ‘become’ …. the person you want to be … BEFORE you are!
Imagination you say?
Yes, imagination. Without it, you can be the hardest worker, the most diligent disciplinarian, the most ‘in-control’ person you know, the most motivated, have the best coach or trainer … but these characteristics amount to nothing, as far as results are concerned, if you don’t hold a vivid, precise, unwavering image of the person you desire to be in your mind.
Physical transformation can be a long road, with bumps, turns and challenges. The people who achieve success in this area, be it changing body shape, body re-engineering, weight loss, are the ones who maintain a mental picture of themselves in their mind. The mind is the most important and most powerful tool one has in achieving physical transformation results.

I believe it adds to muscle growth. It assists him in realising his body re-engineering goals.
I believe the body is the physical manifestation of the mind. Wherever your mind goes the body will follow.
The image you hold vividly in your mind is key (imagination). You need to treat ‘food for your mind’ (images) like you do your physical nutrition. You need to have constant feeding of these images every day, multiple times a day just like you do for your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks in-between. Why? Well, because that is key to you getting you closer to how you imagine you look in the mirror. After having a hearty meal, say – lunch, you wouldn’t say ” well, I’m really full. That will do me for a month”. Wouldn’t you? You need to constantly feed your body.
This is exactly how you need to feed your mind. Remember, your body goes where your mind goes.
Those who know me know I love to summarise my ideas down into a formula (my first love was mathematics) so, without further ado my very first formula is:
EFFORT (work) + IMAGINATION (dreams) + HEART (belief) + FOCUS = DESIRED RESULT
Don’t delay, if you haven’t already done so, kick-start your ‘summer body’ program now to show off on the beach when summer rolls around. You don’t want to delay it(procrastinate) and spend all your time in summer ‘in the gym’ when you should be enjoying the sun, beach and close family and friends.
